mycelium
/mʌɪˈsiːlɪəm/
(biology; mycology) the vegetative part of a fungus, consisting of a network of fine white filaments (hyphae).

In more complex environments, hyphae contact genetically compatible hyphae and combine to form collectives. The mycelium thus develops a dynamic network structure that enables a hierarchy-free multidirectional exchange with all connected mycelia in the system.
collective mycelium
is a transdisciplinary research collective of variable formation which operates between disciplines of art, music, science and society. It creates rooms, projects and formats that elude classification, definition and conventional genre. It develops intermediatory roles between established categories and formats and enters into a dialog with issues and problems of todays societies.
